Australian MotoGP Phillip Island Tips

The upcoming MotoGP race at Phillip Island is no doubt one of the most anticipated events of the year. The riders will face the challenging circuit and the unpredictable weather this Friday the 20th October 2023. The bookies have their favourites, but anything can happen on race day.

TLDR: Bagnaia is the favourite to win the MotoGP race at Phillip Island, but Bezzecchi, Martin and others could also contend for the podium.

Who are the favourites to win?

  • If Marc Marquez wins, he’s going to extend his lead in the championship and secure his ninth title. He has won six times at Phillip Island, and is the clear favourite with 1.5 odds. He’s facing stiff competition from the pack, especially Fabio Quartararo, who is second in the standings and has 3.0 odds.
  • If Fabio Quartararo wins, he will close the gap to Marquez and keep his hopes alive for the title. He has never won at Phillip Island, but he has shown impressive speed and consistency this season. Hes going to need to overcome his lack of experience and the pressure of being the challenger, as well as fend off other contenders like Jack Miller and Francesco Bagnaia, who have 4.0 and 5.0 odds respectively.
  • If Jack Miller wins, he’s going to delight his home crowd and achieve his first victory of the year. He has been on the podium twice at Phillip Island, and has 4.0 odds to win. He will need to capitalise on his familiarity with the track and his aggressive riding style, as well as avoid any mistakes or crashes that have cost him points in the past.
  • If Francesco Bagnaia wins, he will confirm his status as the rookie of the year and the future star of MotoGP. He has been impressive in his debut season, scoring two podiums and challenging for the win in several races. He has 5.0 odds to win at Phillip Island, but he will need to adapt quickly to the demanding circuit and the changing conditions, as well as deal with the pressure of being in a factory team.

However, other riders could also challenge for the victory, such as Joan Mir, Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi. The Phillip Island circuit is known for its fast and flowing layout, with high-speed corners and elevation changes. It also has unpredictable weather conditions, which could affect the performance and strategy of the riders.

  • 125cc World Championship (1): (2010)

Marc Marquez is hands down the most successful rider at Phillip Island in the MotoGP era. He’s won six times in the premier class since 2013. Here why I think he’s in with a chance to win the 2023 Australian Grand Prix:

  • He has a very strong record at Phillip Island. He’s won six out of his last ten races . He’s also got the lap record and the pole position record at the circuit.
  • He is extremely motivated to finish his last season with Honda in the best way possible, as he’s moving to Yamaha in 2024 . He has said that his objective is to “do our maximum to finish 2023 in the best way possible”.
  • He has shown great pace and consistency throughout the season by winning five races and scoring 14 podiums so far. He is second in the championship standings, only 14 points behind Francesco Bagnaia.
  • There’s a mild chance of him taking advantage of Bagnaia’s holeshot device problems. These have affected a few of his starts in several races this year. Marquez is known for his aggressive overtaking moves and his ability to recover positions quickly.
  • He has a soft rear tyre option that could give him an extra boost in performance and grip in the final laps. He is the only one to choose this tyre compound for the race.

Let’s see what the major sites are paying Marquez to win the race:

  • Sportsbet: 2.50
  • Bet365: 2.40
  • Ladbrokes: 2.50
  • Neds: 2.50

If we look at the bookies, Marc Marquez is the clear favourite to win the 2023 Australian Grand Prix. He has everything he needs to claim his seventh victory at Phillip Island and close the gap to Bagnaia in the championship fight. With either site, you’re odds are pretty close.

Fabio Quartararo is one of the most talented and exciting riders in MotoGP, and he has a great chance to win the upcoming race at Phillip Island. Here are some reasons why:

  • -e is the current championship leader, with a 14-point advantage over Francesco Bagnaia. He has won six races this season, trumping the other riders. He’s also been on the podium 11 times already.
  • He has a superior record at Phillip Island, despite that crash in 2019, finishing second in 2020 behind Remy Gardner. He was the fastest in FP1 this year, before suffering a minor injury in FP2. He recovered well and qualified on the front row for the race.
  • He rides the Yamaha YZR-M1, which is well suited to the fast and flowing nature of Phillip Island. His Yamaha has excellent corner speed, stability and acceleration, which are crucial for this track. Quartararo also has a smooth and precise riding style, which helps him conserve his tyres and manage his pace.
  • He has a strong motivation to win because he’s chasing his maiden MotoGP title and wants to bounce back from his crash in Australia last year. He also wants to honour his friend Jason Dupasquier, by dedicating his victory to him, who tragically passed away earlier this year.

Fabio Quartararo might win the MotoGP race at Phillip Island. He has the speed, the skill, the bike and the sheer determination to do it. He’s up against tough competition from the others, but he has the grit to prevail.

Why Jack Miller could win

The Australian Grand Prix is one of the most anticipated events of the MotoGP season, and this year it could be even more special for the home fans. Jack Miller, the only Australian rider on the grid, is in the form of his life and has a realistic chance of winning his first race at Phillip Island.

Here are some reasons why Miller could be celebrating on the podium on Sunday:

  • – He has been on the podium seven times this season, including a win in Spain and a second place in Indonesia.
  • He has cut down his deficit in the championship standings to only 40 points behind Fabio Quartararo, meaning he is still an outside contender for the title.
  • He has switched to KTM this year, which has proved to be a competitive bike on fast and flowing circuits like Phillip Island.
  • He has tested a new carbon fibre chassis that has improved his performance and confidence.
  • He has the support of the home crowd, which always gives him an extra boost of motivation.

According to some major sports betting sites in Australia, Miller is among the favourites to win the race. Here are some of the odds as of October 17, 2023:

  • Sportsbet: 4.00
  • TAB: 4.50
  • Bet365: 4.33
  • Ladbrokes: 4.20

Miller has never won at Phillip Island before, but he has come close several times. He finished second in 2019 and fourth in 2020. He also holds the lap record at the circuit, which he set in 2019 with a time of 1:28.108.

This year, Miller has everything he needs to finally achieve his dream of winning his home grand prix. He has the speed, the bike, the team and the fans behind him. He just needs to put it all together on race day and hope that luck is on his side.

Why Francesco Bagnaia could win

Francesco Bagnaia is the reigning MotoGP champion and the current leader of this year’s standings. He’s shown incredible speed, consistency and intelligence throughout the season. He’s won six races and scored 10 podiums. He is also riding a Ducati, the most powerful and versatile bike on the grid. Here’s why I think he’ll win the upcoming MotoGP race.

– He has a 14-point advantage over his closest rival, Fabio Quartararo, who has struggled in the last three races, crashing out twice and finishing eighth once.
– He has a proven record at Phillip Island. He finished second in 2022 and third in 2021. He also won the Moto2 race there in 2018.
– He has overcome adversity to win the Indonesian GP, coming from 13th on the grid, matching Marco Melandri’s feat from 2006.
– He has the support of his Ducati team-mate Jack Miller. Miller has the home crowd favourite and will help him fend off any challengers.

According to major sports betting sites in Australia, Bagnaia is the clear favourite to win the race, with the following odds:

  • Sportsbet: 2.50
  • TAB: 2.40
  • Bet365: 2.37
  • Ladbrokes: 2.30

Francesco Bagnaia has everything in his favour to clinch his seventh victory of the season and extend his lead in the championship. He is confident, motivated and determined to prove himself as one of the best riders in MotoGP history. He will not let this opportunity slip away.

Who the bookies think will win?

The MotoGP sees the world’s best riders compete on this scenic and challenging circuit. The rade promises to be a thrilling showdown featuring a tight battle for the championship between Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia, and a home crowd favourite in Jack Miller.

But because I’m a betting man I want to know who the bookies think will win? Let’s look the odds from some of the major sports betting sites in Australia to see how they rate the chances  of these contenders.:

Rider Marc Marquez Jack Miller Francesco Bagnaia
Bet365 2.50 4.00 3.00
Sportsbet 2.40 4.50 3.50
Ladbrokes 2.30 5.00 4.00
Average 2.40 4.50 3.50

As we can see, Marc Marquez is the favourite across the board, with an average odds of 2.40, meaning that a $10 bet on him would return $24 if he wins. The reigning champion has won six times at Phillip Island, including the last three editions, and is in top form after winning four of the last five races.

Jack Miller is the second favourite, with an average odds of 4.50, meaning that a $10 bet on him would return $45 if he wins. The Australian rider has a lot of support from the local fans, and has shown great speed and consistency this season, finishing on the podium seven times and winning twice.

Francesco Bagnaia is the third favourite, with an average odds of 3.50, meaning that a $10 bet on him would return $35 if he wins. The Italian rider is Marquez’s closest rival in the championship, trailing by only 18 points, and has been very impressive in his second year in MotoGP, winning three races and scoring nine podiums.

The Bottom Line

Of course, anything can happen in MotoGP, and there are many other riders who could challenge for the victory, such as Fabio Quartararo, Maverick Vinales, or Alex Rins. But based on the bookies’ opinions, it seems that Marquez, Miller, and Bagnaia are the ones to watch at Phillip Island.

Southern Cross Bet Review

If you’re looking for a reliable and trustworthy online sports betting site in Australia, you might want to check out Southern Cross Bet. Southern Cross Bet is a relatively new player in the market, but they’ve already gained a lot of popularity among Australian punters. Let’s take a closer look into my personal experience with Southern Cross Bet, and why I think it’s one of the best options for online sports betting in Australia.

What I like about Southern Cross Bet

You can access the site from any device, or download the app for iOS or Android devices. It’s not on the Play Store but they have detailed instructions to get started.
  • Variety of sports and racing markets: Southern Cross Bet covers all the major sports in and racing events in Australia, but also all around the world. You can also bet on horse racing, greyhound racing, and harness racing from local and international tracks.

The site also pays out quickly and securely, using various payment methods, such as credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, and POLi.

Southern Cross Bet could be a great choice for anyone who loves sports betting and wants to enjoy a hassle-free and fun experience. The site is safe, reliable, and licensed in New South Wale by the Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission The customer service team seems to be friendly and helpful, available 24/7 via phone, email, or live chat. I can’t fault Southern Cross Bet to anyone who is looking for a new online sports betting platform.

What I don’t like about Southern Cross Bet

Southern Cross Bet is one of the newest online sports betting sites and it definitely has a lot of room for improvement. It offers a decent range of markets and odds, it also has some drawbacks that can make it less appealing than some of its competitors. Here a few things that irk me about Southern Cross Bet:

  • An old design: The website design is outdated and cluttered. It’s hard to navigate and find what you’re looking for, especially on mobile devices.
  • Customer service: The customer service can be a tad slow and unresponsive. I’ve tried to contact them several times via email, phone and live chat, but I always get either no reply or a generic answer that doesn’t solve my problem.
  • Cash-out waits: The withdrawal process is complicated and lengthy. You have to verify your identity and provide a lot of documents before you can withdraw your winnings. This can take up to 5 days which can eat into your fun. There are also fees and limits on how much you can withdraw at a time. Just gimme my winnings!

Southern Cross Bet isn’t a bad option for online sports betting, considering it’s relatively new. But it’s not amazing either. You’re spoilt for choice in Australia so it’s definitely worth shopping around and comparing before you commit to a platform.

It offers up a good balance between quality and offers variety and value. Southern Cross Bet might be the one for you to try out this weekend. It always pays to compare all your options before sending money into your account.

How I got started with Southern Cross Bet.

I’ll admit it, their opening slogan: “Bet with the stars, win with the Southern Cross” got me hooked. I decided to give them a try and see for myself what they had to offer.

I signed up and it only took me a few minutes to fill in my details and verify my identity.

I stupidly made my first deposit using my credit card, which was processed instantly and without any fees. Except for my bank – I was hit with the cash advance rate of interest, that was charged as soon as I made my deposit.

I placed my first bet on an AFL match between Collingwood and Essendon. I backed Collingwood to win by more than 10 points at odds of 2.10. I also placed a player prop bet on Jordan De Goey to score more than 2 goals at odds of 3.00. I watched the game while having a few schooners with my golf buddies.

Collingwood won the game by 15 points, and De Goey scored 3 goals. Turns out I had won and that covered the credit card fees. Of course this doesn’t happen all the time, but tonight I was in luck.

So, that’s how I got started with Southern Cross Bet. Nothing special, but a good story to tell.

What sports can you bet on?

One of the big draw cards of Southern Cross Bet is the wide variety of sports that you can bet on. Whether you’re into local or international events, you’ll find something for everyone. Here’s some of the sports that you can bet on:

  • AFL: The Australian Football League could quite be the most popular sport in the country. Except for NSW. You can wager on match winners, margins, totals, futures, and more.
  • NRL: The NRL is the premier rugby competition in NSW and Queensland. You can bet on head-to-head, line, over/under, first try scorer, and more.
  • Cricket: You can bet on domestic and international cricket matches, including the Big Bash League, Sheffield Shield, Test matches, One Day Internationals, and T20s. You can bet on match outcomes, top run scorer, top wicket taker, highest opening partnership, and more.
  • Soccer: You can place bets on the A-League along with major international leagues and tournaments. You’ll get acces to the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FIFA World Cup, and more. You can bet on match results, correct score, both teams to score, goal scorer markets, and more.
  • Rugby Union: You’ll get to bet on the Super Rugby in Australia, as well as international matches and tournaments such as the Rugby Championship, Six Nations, and Rugby World Cup. You can bet on match winners, handicaps, totals, first try scorer, and more.
  • Tennis: You can bet on the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the year, as well as other major tournaments such as Wimbledon, US Open, French Open, ATP Tour events, and more. You can bet on match winners, sets betting, total games, tiebreaks, and more.

You can bet on match winners , points spread , over/under , first half/second half , quarter betting , player props , and more.

There’s plenty of other options available for you to explore and enjoy, you won’t know unless you have a browse around.

What about the Security?

One of the most important aspects of any online betting site is how secure it is. You don’t want to risk your personal or financial information falling into the wrong hands. Southern Cross Bet have a strict privacy policy that ensures they won’t share your details with any third parties without your consent.

They have a strong KYC and use sophisticated ways of verifying your identity and age before you can withdraw any winnings. This is to prevent fraud and underage gambling. You will need to provide some documents, such as a driver’s license or passport, to prove your identity and age. This process may take a few days, but it is for your own safety and peace of mind.

The Bottom Line

Southern Cross Bet is a new online sports betting platform that offers competitive odds, a user-friendly interface, and a generous welcome bonus. Whether you are a fan of AFL, NRL, cricket, soccer, or horse racing, you will find plenty of markets to choose from. Southern Cross Bet also has a responsive customer service team and a secure payment system. However, there are some drawbacks to consider, such as the lack of live streaming and the limited withdrawal options. Overall, Southern Cross Bet is a promising option for Australian punters who want to try something different and enjoy a hassle-free betting experience.

2023 Caulfield Cup – Tips and Odds

The Caulfield Cup is one of the most prestigious races in the Australian horse racing calendar. It is a Group 1 race that attracts the best local and international horses. It also attracts a huge crowd of passionate fans who will no doubt be dressed up to the nines.

It’s not far away, with the 2023 race this Saturday, October 21, 2023

TLDR: Soulcombe is the clear favourite, but it could be worth spreading your bets.

I’ve been doing my best to crunch the numbers to provide you with the best tips and odds for this exciting event. Let’s break down some insights on the race history, the contenders, the track conditions, and most importantly, the best value bets.

So whether you are a seasoned punter or just a casual fan, my hope is you will find something useful and informative in this analysis

Who do the major betting sites have as favourite?

The Caulfield Cup is a key lead-up race for the Melbourne Cup, with the winner gaining automatic entry into the race that stops a nation. Let’s breakdown who’s in the lead as favourite.

  • Soulcombe: The Japanese star is the clear favourite across the board, with odds ranging from +400 to +450. He has won four of his last five starts in Japan, including the Group 1 Tenno Sho Spring over 3200m. He has proven form over the distance and on firm ground, and should relish the wide draw in barrier 18. He is the top pick of Racenet, Just Horse Racing and Swiftbet.
  • Gold Trip: The French import is the second favourite, with odds between +500 and +550. He was an impressive winner of the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington last start, beating several Caulfield Cup rivals with ease. He has also performed well in Europe, finishing fourth in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last year. He is well weighted with 55kg and has Mark Zahra in the saddle. He is the top pick of MSN and Betr.
  • West Wind Blows: The Irish raider is the third favourite, with odds between +500 and +600. He has won three of his last four starts in Ireland and England, including the Group 2 Lonsdale Cup over 3300m. He has a strong turn of foot and can handle any ground conditions. He has a favourable barrier in gate 6 and has James McDonald on board. He is the top pick of The Sun and Yahoo News.

It’s an even spread and you never know what could happen on the day. The weather could change, the wind could pick up or there could even be a weight disqualification. All eyes are on this race.

Why Soulcoumbe could win

The bookies have Soulcoumbe as one of the top contenders this year. The six-year-old gelding, trained by Chris Waller and ridden by James McDonald, has been in excellent form this season, winning the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes and finishing second in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes behind Gold Trip.

Soulcoumbe has proven himself over the 2,400m distance by winning the Group 1 Tancred Stakes in April and finishing fourth in last year’s Caulfield Cup. He also has a favourable barrier draw of six, which should allow him to settle in a good position and avoid traffic.

Soulcoumbe’s main rivals are likely to be Gold Trip, who beat him by two lengths in the Turnbull Stakes, and Without A Fight, who won the Group 1 Underwood Stakes. However, Soulcoumbe has a clear weight advantage over both of them, carrying 56kg compared to their 58kg and 57kg respectively.

Why Gold Trip could get up

Gold Trip is one of the most bet-worthy contenders for this years Cup according to Aussie bookies. The French-bred horse has quite an impressive record: four wins and six placings from 13 starts. This includes a huge fourth place in the 2020 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which is one of the most prestigious races in the world.

Gold Trip has also shown his versatility by winning on both turf and synthetic tracks, and over distances ranging from 1600m to 2400m. He has a significant strong finishing burst and has proven his stamina, both qualities are essential qualities for the Caulfield Cup.

Gold Trip is trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, who have won the race twice before with Jameka in 2016 and Sir Dragonet in 2020. Some say they’ve given him the perfect preparation. He’s has two lead-up runs in Australia, including a close second in the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington.

Gold Trip will carry 55kg in the Caulfield Cup, which is a favourable weight considering his class and form. He has drawn barrier 10, which gives him a good chance to settle in a handy position and avoid traffic problems. With a bit of luck, Gold Trip could get up and claim the $5 million prize for his connections and backers.

Why West Wind Blows could win

This six-year-old gelding has shown impressive form in his recent races, winning the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes and finishing second in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes. He has also proven his stamina and versatility, running well on different tracks and distances. His trainer, John Smith, is confident that he can handle the 2400m of the Caulfield Cup and challenge the favourites.

West Wind Blows has a favourable barrier draw, starting from gate 4, which gives him a good chance to settle in a comfortable position and avoid traffic. He will be ridden by James Brown, who has a strong record in the Caulfield Cup, having won it twice before. Brown knows how to pace his mount and make the right moves at the right time. He has a good rapport with West Wind Blows, having ridden him in four of his last five starts.

West Wind Blows is currently paying $11 at the bookies, which makes him an attractive bet for punters who are looking for value. He has the potential to upset the favourites and claim his first Group 1 victory in the Caulfield Cup. He is a horse that loves to compete and never gives up, and he could surprise many with his performance on Saturday.

The Bottom Line

There’s are some strong contenders for the title this year. However, three horses stand out from the rest: West Wind Blows, Gold Trip and Soulcombe.

West Wind Blows is the favourite of the bookies, with odds of 4/1. He also has a favourable barrier draw, starting from gate 6. He is a reliable and consistent performer, and he deserves to be the top pick.

Gold Trip is the second favourite, with odds of 6/1. He also has a good pedigree, being a son of champion sire Galileo. He is a classy and versatile horse, and he could challenge West Wind Blows for the win.

Soulcombe is the dark horse of the race, with odds of 16/1. He also has a favourable weight, carrying only 51kg. He’s a tough and resilient horse, and she could surprise everyone with a big upset.

I’m putting some money on West Wind Blows to win the Caulfield Cup, as I think he has the best combination of form, fitness and favourable factors. But, I’m going to hedge some bets on Gold Trip and Soulcombe to place, as they have shown enough quality and potential to make it to the podium.

Neds vs Boombet

If you’re looking for a reliable online sports betting site, you’re probably wondering which one to choose between Neds and Boombet. Both of them offer a wide variety of markets and features aimed at attracting and satisfying punters of all levels.

But how do they compare in terms of odds, markets, customer service, payment options, and user experience? I’ll break down how each site performs, based on my own experience and personal research. I’ll give you a winner and why so you can go away and make an informed decision for yourself.

Comparison of market offerings

One of the most important factors to consider when choosing a sports betting site is the range and quality of the markets they offer. Markets are the different types of bets you can place on a given event, such as the winner, the total score, the first scorer, etc. In this section, we will compare the markets offered by Neds and Boombet, two of the most popular Australian sports betting sites.

Neds vs Boombet: Who has the best markets?

  • Neds has over 30 sports and hundreds of events you can bet on. There’s a bunch of Australian favourites like AFL, NRL, cricket, rugby and horse racing. Boombet has a similar selection of sports, but sadly fewer events and less variety in the markets.
  • Neds offers more than 150 markets for some of the major sporting events. You’ll get access to the AFL Grand Final, the Melbourne Cup and the Ashes. In comparison, Boombet has around 100 markets for these events. These are mostly standard bets like head-to-head, line and over/under.
  • Neds has some unique and innovative markets that you won’t find on Boombet. There’s things like player props, same game multis, megabets and price boosts. These markets allow you to customise your bets and get better odds on your favourite outcomes.
  • Boombet has some clear advantages over Neds in terms of market depth and value. Boombet offers you more exotic bets like futures, parlays and teasers, which can give you higher payouts if you are confident in your predictions. Boombet also has lower margins and higher limits than Neds, which means you can get better prices and place bigger bets.

Let’s look at Neds and Boombet side-by-side:

Feature Neds Boombet
Number of sports Over 30 Over 30
Number of events Hundreds Fewer
Number of markets Over 150 for major events Around 100 for major events
Unique markets Yes No
Exotic bets No Yes
Margins Higher Lower
Limits Lower Higher

Both sides have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to their market offerings. It will all depend on your preferences and betting style, you may find one of them more suitable for your needs.

But it is definitely worth comparing the odds and options for each event before placing your bets. You may get significantly better odds with one of the two sites.

Who has the best odds?

Let’s take a closer look and compare the odds of Neds and Boombet. We’ll be able to see who has the best value for your money.

  • They both offer competitive odds on a variety of sports, such as AFL, NRL, cricket, soccer, tennis, basketball, and much more. However, there are some differences in how they calculate and display their odds and these can greatly affect your betting experience and outcome.
  • Neds use decimal odds. These are the most common and easy to understand format in Australia. Decimal odds show you how much you will get back for every dollar you bet, including your stake. For example, if the odds are 2.50, you will get $2.50 back for every $1 you bet.
  • Boombet uses fractional odds. These are more common in the UK and Ireland. Fractional odds show you how much you will win relative to your stake. For example, if the odds are 3/2, you will win $3 for every $2 you stake.
  • To compare the odds of Neds and Boombet, you need to convert them to the same format. You can do this by dividing the numerator by the denominator for fractional odds, or by adding 1 to decimal odds. For example, 3/2 is equivalent to 2.50, and 2.50 is equivalent to 3/2. It gets confusing!

Let’s look at some examples of how the odds of Neds and Boombet compare for some of popular events this past year. As you can see, Neds generally offers slightly better odds than Boombet, especially for underdogs and draws.

Event Neds Odds Boombet Odds
AFL Grand Final: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs Melbourne 1.72, Western Bulldogs 2.15 Melbourne 8/11, Western Bulldogs 11/8
NRL Grand Final: Penrith vs South Sydney Penrith 1.67, South Sydney 2.25 Penrith 4/6, South Sydney 6/4
T20 World Cup: Australia vs England Australia 2.10, England 1.74 Australia 11/10, England 8/11
A-League: Sydney FC vs Melbourne City Sydney FC 2.60, Draw 3.40, Melbourne City 2.60 Sydney FC 8/5, Draw 12/5, Melbourne City 8/5

Neds has the edge over Boombet when it comes to odds. It offers slightly higher returns for most bets. However, this does not mean that Boombet is a bad choice. Boombet still has competitive odds and other features that may appeal to some bettors.

Like most things, the best sports betting site for you depends on your personal preferences and goals.

Who has the better customer service?

In 2023, customer service is also very important. The good news is both Neds and Boombet take it seriously and they have their pros and cons. This is some of the factors that I’ve considered when putting them head to head:

  • Availability: Neds offers 24/7 support via phone, email and live chat, while Boombet only has phone and email support from 8am to 10pm AEST.
  • Responsiveness: Neds has a fast and friendly service, with an average response time of less than a minute on live chat and phone. Boombet can take up to 10 minutes to answer a phone call or an email, and sometimes the agents are not very helpful or polite.
  • Knowledge: Neds has a comprehensive FAQ section on their website, as well as a blog and a podcast that cover various topics related to sports betting. Boombet has a basic FAQ section, but no other resources or tips for bettors.
  • Complaints: Neds has a good reputation among customers, with few complaints or negative reviews online. Boombet has received many complaints about delayed payments, account closures, and unfair odds.

Neds hands-down has the better customer service overall, as they are more available, responsive, knowledgeable, and trustworthy than Boombet. If customer service is important to you, I definitely would recommend Neds to anyone who values a smooth and satisfying betting experience.

So who is the winner?

After looking closely at Neds and Boombet on various aspects such as odds, markets, bonuses, customer service, and user interface, I have to say that Neds is the clear winner for me. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • – Neds offers more competitive odds than Boombet, especially on Australian classics such as AFL, NRL, and cricket.
  • Neds has a wider range of markets and bet types than Boombet, giving me more options and flexibility to bet on what I want.
  • Neds has a friendly and responsive customer service team that is available 24/7 via phone, email, or live chat. Boombet’s customer support is limited and sometimes unhelpful.
  • Neds has a sleek and intuitive website and app that are easy to navigate and use. Boombet’s just doesn’t have that feel.
  • Both sites are licensed and regulated by reputable authorities in Australia, so you can trust them with your money and personal information.

The clear winner is Neds. Neds is a superior online sports betting site than Boombet in every aspect. I highly recommend Neds to anyone who is looking for a reliable, fun, and profitable betting experience.

Sportsbet vs Ladbrokes

Sportsbet and Ladbrokes are without doubt two of ongoithe most popular online sports betting sites in Australia. They offer a variety of markets, features, and ongoing promotions for punters who want to have a bet. But which one is better for you? Let’s take time to compare Sportsbet and Ladbrokes based on their odds, bonuses, customer service, and much more. My goal is to help you have a clear idea of which site suits your needs and preferences better.

Comparison of market offerings

Both sites offer a wide range of markets for you to enjoy. But how do they compare in terms of market offerings? Here are some of the main differences and similarities between them:

  • Sportsbet has more markets than Ladbrokes. This is especially true for niche sports and events. You’ll find odds on everything from politics to esports on Sportsbet. Ladbrokes focuses more on the mainstream sports such as AFL, NRL and horse racing.
  • Ladbrokes clearly has better odds than Sportsbet for some of the major sports and events, such as the Melbourne Cup, the NRL Grand Final and the Ashes. Ladbrokes also offers a Best Tote or SP guarantee for all Australian horse racing. This means you always get the best possible payout.
  • Sportsbet has more promotions and features than Ladbrokes, such as the Power Play. The Power Play lets you boost your odds on one bet per day and the Multi Builder lets you create your own multi bets with ease. You’ll also get access to the Punters Club, which lets you join or create a betting club with your mates.
  • Ladbrokes does have a simpler and more user-friendly website and app than Sportsbet, which makes it easier to navigate and place bets. Ladbrokes also has a live chat feature that lets you contact customer support instantly, while Sportsbet only offers email and phone support.

Both Sportsbet and Ladbrokes are excellent choices for online sports betting in Australia, but they do have different strengths and weaknesses. It all depends on what you are looking for.

But at the end of the day you can always sign up for both and take advantage of their welcome bonuses and offers.

Who has the best odds?

One of the most important factors to consider when choosing a sports betting site is the odds thats on offer. Both sites offer different odds for the same event because this depends on their own calculations and market conditions.

  1. Sportsbet claims to have the best odds on Australian and international racing, as well as a wide range of sports markets. They offer enhanced odds on selected events, such as the AFL, NRL and NBA. Sportsbet has a reputation for being generous with their promotions and bonuses, which can boost your winnings or reduce your losses.
  2. Ladbrokes have a comprehensive coverage of local and global sports, as well as horse racing and greyhound racing. They also feature the Odds Boost allowing you to increase the odds of any single bet once a day.

So, who has the best odds?
The answer is not straightforward, as it all depends on what you are betting on, when you are betting, and how much you are betting. The best way to find out is to compare the odds of both sites before placing your bets. You can sign up for both sites and place the same bet on both sites to see who comes out on top.

Both sites are super reliable and reputable offering competitive odds on a variety of events. Sadly, there is no clear winner when it comes to who has the best odds, as it varies depending on the situation. Sign up for both and see who hits your preferences.

Who has the better customer service?

Another one of the important factors to consider when choosing a sports betting site is the quality of customer service. How do Sportsbet and Ladbrokes stack up? Keep these points in mind:

  • Sportsbet offers 24/7 customer support via phone, live chat, email and social media. Ladbrokes also has phone and live chat options, but they are only available from 8am to 11pm AEST, seven days a week.
  • Sportsbet has a comprehensive FAQ section on its website, covering topics such as account management, deposits and withdrawals, promotions and responsible gambling. Ladbrokes has a similar FAQ page, but it is less detailed and harder to navigate.
  • Sportsbet have worked hard to earn themselves a reputation for being friendly, helpful and responsive to customer enquiries. Ladbrokes, unfortunately, has received some negative feedback from customers. They’ve experienced delays, errors and poor communication from the support team.

Sportsbet has the edge over Ladbrokes when it comes to customer service. However, both sites have their pros and cons, and ultimately the best choice depends on your personal preferences and needs. Always read the terms and conditions carefully before signing up with any sports betting site.

So who is the winner?

So, the big question…who is the winner? It’s not an easy question to answer, as both Sportsbet and Ladbrokes have their pros and cons. Sportsbet has a wider range of sports and markets, a user-friendly app, and a generous welcome bonus. Ladbrokes has more competitive odds, a loyalty program, and a live streaming service. Ultimately, the choice depends on your personal preferences and betting style. You might want to try both sites and see which one suits you better.

However, before you place any bets, remember that gambling is a risky activity that can lead to addiction and financial problems. Always gamble responsibly and only bet what you can afford to lose. Sydney Kings Vs Perth Wildcats Predictions – 15th October 2023

The NBL season is heating up and one of the most anticipated games is the clash between the Sydney Kings and the Perth Wildcats. Both teams are in the top four of the ladder and have a chance to secure a spot in the finals with a win. The game will be played at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday, October 15 at 3 pm AEDT. The bookies have the Kings as slight favourites, but the Wildcats are not to be underestimated. They have won the last two championships and have a strong record against the Kings. In this article, we will analyse the strengths and weaknesses of both teams, their key players, and their recent form. We will also look at the betting odds and give our prediction for the outcome of the game.

TLDR: The Wildcats are favourites to win against the Kings, but the game will be close and exciting.

Why I think the Aussies will get up

These teams are two the most successful teams in the NBL but they have very different styles and strengths. The Kings have a reputation for their fast-paced offence and sharp shooting. The Wildcats are grounded by their tough defence and physical play. They both have loyal fan bases and red-hot rivalries…but who will come out on top in their next clash?

Here are some of my thoughts:

  • The Kings have a deep bench and more scoring options than the Wildcats. They can rotate players and be able to keep pressure on the Wildcats’ defence.
  • The Kings have the home court advantage and the support of their fans. They have won 10 of their last 12 games at Qudos Bank Arena, and they will be deeply motivated to put on a show for their supporters.
  • The Kings also have a better record against the Wildcats this season. They have won two out of three games, including a 108-87 blowout in January. They’ve also scored more points and made way more three-pointers than the Wildcats in their head-to-head matchups.

The Kings have a good chance to get up because they have more firepower, more confidence, and more momentum than the Wildcats. They’re also hungry to win their first NBL title since 2008, and won’t want to let down the home crowd..

Why I think the Wildcats will get up

The Sydney Kings and the Perth Wildcats are set to face off in a thrilling NBL game on Saturday night. Both teams have been in great form lately, but I think the Wildcats have the edge in this matchup. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • The Wildcats have won their last two games against the Kings, including a 96-84 point trouncing in their most recent encounter in May.
  • The Wildcats have some of the best defence in the league. THey’re averaging only 79.4 points per game against them. They also lead the league in steals (8.9 per game) and blocks (4.1 per game).
  • The Wildcats have a balanced and somewhat deep roster, with five players averaging double figures in scoring. Bryce Cotton is the frontrunner for the MVP award, averaging 23.8 points and 5.9 assists per game.
  • The Wildcats will be motivated by the Sydney home crowd. The crowd will be loud and supportive of the Kings, giving them an extra boost of energy.

I think these factors will make the difference in this game, and the Wildcats will come out victorious. They are the reigning champions and they know how to win in big moments. The Kings will put up a fight, but they won’t be able to match the intensity and execution of the Wildcats.

What do the bookies say?

The bookies are favouring the Perth Wildcats against the Sydney Kings. I did a quick whip around and checked the latest odds from different Australian bookmakers. The Wildcats have won four of their last five games, including the last two head-to-head games The Kings, on the other hand, have lost two of their last three games, but could be spurred on by a home crowd.

Let’s look at the latest odds from the sports betting sites

  • Bet365: Perth Wildcats 1.36, Sydney Kings 3.16
  • SportsBet: Perth Wildcats 1.38, Sydney Kings 3.10
  • Ladbrokes: Perth Wildcats 1.36, Sydney Kings 3.15
  • Betfair: Perth Wildcats 1.37, Sydney Kings 3.40

Based on these odds, it looks like the bookies are expecting a close game, but with a clear edge for Perth. The Kings will need a big performance from Casper Ware and their supporting cast to pull off an upset.

The bottom line

The Kings have the home advantage and a balanced roster led by Jarell Martin and Jaylin Adams, while the Wildcats have the experience and the MVP candidate Bryce Cotton. The bookies are favouring the Wildcat’s slightly, but this could be an upset

This game is super hard to predict, and as much as I love the Kings, the Wildcats may just have the edge in this game. They’ve been playing well despite all their injuries, and they have a proven track record of winning big games on the road.

Cotton is a clutch performer who can take over any game, and he has a strong supporting cast in John Mooney, Todd Blanchfield and Mitch Norton.

I’m putting a cheeky $50 on the Wildcats to win or cover the spread, but only because I can afford to lose it.

Remember, betting is a risky activity and you should only bet what you can afford to lose. Good luck!

Betr Australia Review

If you’ve been looking for a reliable and user-friendly sports betting site in Australia, you might want to check out Betr. Betr is an online platform that allows you to bet on various sports events, such as AFL, NRL, cricket, soccer, tennis, and more. I’ve used it for a while, so I’ll share with you my personal experience with Betr. I’ll give you its features, benefits, drawbacks, and tips. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned punter, you’ll find something useful in this review.

What I like about Betr

Betr could well be one of the most underrated sports betting sites in Australia, and for plenty of good reasons. I have been using Betr for over a year now, and I have enjoyed every moment of it. Here are just a few of the things that I like about Betr:

  • They have a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to navigate and place bets.
  • They offer a wide range of sports and markets to bet on, from AFL to cricket to soccer. You’ll find competitive odds and generous promotions that give you more value for your money.
  • There’s a reliable customer service team that is available 24/7 via phone, email or live chat.
  • It supports a range of methods like as credit cards, e-wallets and bank transfers with up-to-date security.

If you are looking for a fun and rewarding way to have a punt on your favourite sports, you should consider giving Betr a try.

What I don’t like about Betr

Betr is not without its flaws. Let’s take a look at some of the things that I don’t like about Betr and why they might make you think twice before signing up.

  • Betr has a higher than normal minimum deposit of $20, which is higher than some of its competitors. You’ll need to invest more money upfront to start betting on your favourite sports.
  • Betr charges a 2% fee for withdrawals, which can add up quickly if you want to cash out your winnings. It’s worth banking your winnings into one big pay-out.
  • There’s a a smaller range of sports and markets than other sites to bet on, compared to some of the other sites that offer more variety and options. You also can’t place any bets on esports, which is a growing and popular category among sports fans.
  • The website design is a bit outdated, which can make it hard to navigate and find what you’re looking for. The site has crashed a few times for me, especially during peak times when there are a lot of bets being placed.

Betr could do well to improve a few things about their service and features. Betr is not a bad site, but it’s not the best either. There are a couple of options out there if you’re looking for a more reliable, user-friendly and diverse sports betting experience.

How to fund your Betr Wallet

One of the most, if not the most, important aspects of any online betting site is how easy and convenient it is to deposit and withdraw money. Betr is no exception, and it offers a variety of methods to fund your wallet and start placing bets on your favourite sports.

Method Minimum Deposit Maximum Deposit Processing Time
Credit/Debit Card $10 $5,000 Instant
PayPal $10 $10,000 Instant
Bank Transfer $20 No limit 1-3 business days
Skrill $10 $10,000 Instant
Neteller $10 $10,000 Instant

You’ll find a range of payment methods with all of them are secure and reliable. Choose the one that works best for you.

To fund your wallet, simply log in to your account, go to the cashier section, select your preferred method and follow the instructions. Once your transaction is confirmed, you will see the funds in your wallet and you can start betting.

If you want to take money out, you’ll find a fast and easy withdrawal process. You can definitely cash out your winnings quickly. The withdrawal methods are the same as the deposit methods, except for credit/debit cards, which are not available for withdrawals. The minimum withdrawal amount is $10 for all methods, and the maximum varies depending on the method. The processing time also depends on the method, but it usually takes between 24 hours and 5 business days. Don’t forget that 2% fee on withdrawals I mentioned before.

How does Betr compare to other platforms?

Betr offers a range of features and benefits that make it stand out from the crowd. Let’s see how Betr stacks up to some of the other popular Aussie sites.

Feature Betr Sportsbet Neds Ladbrokes
Cash out option Yes Yes Yes Yes
Live streaming Yes Yes No No
Bet builder Yes No No No
Same game multi bets Yes Yes Yes Yes
Odds boost Yes Yes Yes Yes
Loyalty program Yes No No No

There’s some clear advantages over the other platforms and this is especially evident when it comes to bet building and loyalty programs. You’ll be able to enjoy a more personalised and engaging betting experience. There’s also competitive odds and a user-friendly interface making it easy to navigate and place bets.

If you love betting and want to try something new and exciting Betr has everything you need to have fun and win big. Unfortunately due to legislation the $100 welcome bonus isn’t available to Australians. If you don’t like this you can write to your local member of parliament and petition for change.

How I got started with Betr

I have multiple accounts across sites and had itchy feet to find a site that suited my needs. That’s when my dad told me about Betr. He said it was easy to use, had great odds and a wide range of markets. I signed up with Betr, cos he’s my old man. I was impressed by how fast and simple the registration process was, and how user-friendly the site looked. I made my first deposit and placed my first bet on a rugby match. Betr is definitely my backup site for an odds spread to place a bet.

What sports can you bet on?

Betr is one of the most popular sports betting sites in Australia, and for good reason. They offer a wide range of sports and markets to suit every taste and budget. If you’re a fan of the big ones like  cricket, rugby, soccer, tennis, basketball,  you will find it on Betr. Here are some of the sports you can bet on at Betr:

  • Cricket: Bet on domestic and international matches, including the Big Bash League, the Ashes, the World Cup, and more. You can bet on match outcomes, individual performances, team totals, and more.
  • Rugby: Bet on both rugby union and rugby league, including the Super Rugby, the NRL, the Six Nations, the Rugby Championship, and more. You can bet on match outcomes, points spreads, totals, first try scorer, and more.
  • Soccer: Bet on the most popular sport in the world, including the A-League, the English Premier League, the Champions League, the World Cup, and more. You can bet on match outcomes, correct score, goalscorer, corners, cards, and more.
  • Tennis: Bet on all the major tennis tournaments, including the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, the US Open, and more. You can bet on match outcomes, sets, games, tie-breaks, and more.
  • Basketball: Bet on both domestic and international basketball leagues, including the NBL, the NBA, the Euroleague, the FIBA World Cup, and more. You can bet on match outcomes, points spreads, totals, quarter/half outcomes, and more.

These are just some of the sports you can bet on at Betr. You can also find other sports such as golf, boxing, MMA, motorsports, darts, snooker, and more. Whatever sport you are into, you will find a way to bet on it at Betr.

What about the Security?

You don’t want to risk your personal or financial information falling into the wrong hands. That’s why Betr uses the latest encryption technology and SSL certificates to protect your data and transactions. Betr also complies with the Australian Privacy Principles and has a detailed privacy policy that explains how they collect, use and disclose your information.

Betr also has a responsible gambling policy that encourages you to set limits, take breaks and seek help if you need it. You can contact their customer support team via live chat, email or phone if you have any questions or concerns about your security or privacy.

Bottom Line

Betr is a relatively new player in the Australian sports betting market, but it has already established itself as a reliable and user-friendly platform. Betr offers competitive odds and access to a wide range of sports and events. Betr also has a sleek and intuitive mobile app that lets you bet on the go. Sometimes their site is slow, big deal. If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to enjoy sports betting in Australia, the bottom line is that Betr is a great choice.

Australia vs Samoa Predictions & Odds

If you have been living under a rock, this weekend features a thrilling match between Australia and Samoa. You could argue they are two of the strongest teams in the competition.

There’s a lot of talent and experience floating around, but who will come out on top?

If we’re going to put bets down, it’s important to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of both sides. Equally as important is looking at the odds and predictions from the bookies.

TLDR: Australia is the favourite to win, but Samoa could pull off an upset if they play with passion and discipline.

Why I think the Aussies will get up

There’s no doubt that this upcoming game is going to be a thrilling match. Both teams have a lot of talent and passion. I’m biassed but I believe that the Aussies have the edge. Here’s why:

  • The Aussies have much more experience and depth in their squad. There’s a few players having played in the World Cup before and and other international tournaments.
  • The Aussies have a strong and balanced team, with a powerful forward pack, a creative backline, and a very reliable kicker. There’s also the home advantage. Playing in front of their loyal fans at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium we have a good record.

I think that the Aussies will get up and win the game against Samoa, despite the challenge that the Samoans will pose.

Why I think Samoa will get up

Samoa may have a slight edge over the Aussies for several reasons. Here a couple of them:

  • There’s a sense of cohesive team spirit which is forged by their shared culture and identity. They play with passion and pride and support each other on and off the field.
  • Samoa has a powerful and dynamic forward pack, led by captain Jack Lam. If needed, they can dominate the scrums and the breakdowns. They also provide a solid platform for their backs to launch attacks.
  • Samoa has a very versatile and creative backline featuring the players: Tim Nanai-Williams, Alapati Leiua, and Ed Fidow. All three create opportunities from anywhere on the pitch and have the speed and skill to finish them off.
  • There’s a reliable and experienced kicker in Tusi Pisi, who can slot penalties and conversions from any angle or distance. He has the ability to control the game with his tactical kicking and decision making.

Samoa are in with a good chance to get up over Australia in this game. They have slightly more strengths and fewer weaknesses than their opponents. There’s also the motivation and the confidence to pull off an upset. It will be a tough and tight contest, it’ll be a close match

What do the bookies say?

The Kangaroos are the clear favourites to win the Pacific Championships final against Toa Samoa, according to the latest betting odds. Here are some of the odds from different Australian bookmakers at the time of writing:

  • Sportsbet: Australia $1.05, Samoa $10.00
  • Ladbrokes: Australia $1.09, Samoa $6.80
  • Bet365: Australia $1.10, Samoa $7.00
  • Betfair: Australia $1.12, Samoa $6.50

These odds reflect the dominance of Australia in international rugby league, as well as the impressive form they have shown so far. They have scored 164 points and conceded only 18 in their four games, while Samoa have scored 98 and conceded 74. However, Samoa have also shown resilience and determination, especially in their stunning upset win over England in the semi-final. Samoa will be hoping to pull off another miracle against the mighty Kangaroos.

The bottom line.

This is a huge game between Australia and Samoa and is expected to be a close contest. Both teams are coming to the fight with strong players and fans. But if we take a close look at the current odds and statistics, Australia has a clear edge over Samoa. This is 99% driven by the more experience and depth in their squad.

This doesn’t mean that Samoa can’t pull off an amazing upset. They’ve shown in the past that they can play with passion and skill. Still, I think the Aussies will win!

If you’re going to bet on this game do it with caution and responsibility, as there is no guarantee of the outcome.

Sports betting is a form of gambling and involves risk. Please gamble responsibly and only bet what you can afford to lose.

Australia vs South Africa Predictions – 12/10/2023

The upcoming match between Australia and South Africa is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament. Both teams have a strong record of winning and have some of the best players in the world. But who will come out on top in this clash of titans? We’ll look at some of the factors that could influence the outcome of the game, such as the pitch conditions, the weather and the form of the players. Most importantly the odds offered by the bookies. I’ll also give you some tips on how to bet smartly and make the most of your money.

Why I think the Aussies will get up

Both these teams have a strong history of rivalry and have produced some memorable encounters in the past. But my patriotism believes that Australia has the edge over South Africa in this match. Here’s why:

  • Australia are fielding a more balanced and experienced team than South Africa. There’s a formidable batting line-up, featuring the likes of Steven Smith, David Warner, and Marnus Labuschagne. They’ve been in OK form and are capable of dominating any bowling attack. They also have a strong pace bowling attack, which when firing, can be a daunting prospect for any batter. Their fast bowlers also have the ability to extract bounce and movement off the seam which will make it challenging for South African batsmen to score runs freely.
  • South Africa has really been struggling with their bowling attack recently. They’re lacking the bite and consistency that used to deliver fear from their bowling attack. There’s a clear absence of key experienced bowlers and a severe lack of wicket-taking options  The batters can easily exploit this factor. South Africa’s bowlers will have to come up with a well-thought-out strategy and be on point to contain Australia’s batsmen.
  • Australia has a clear psychological advantage over South Africa in this match. They have won 10 out of their last 15 ODI matches against South Africa, including the last four in a row. They also have a better record at the World Cup, having won five titles compared to none for South Africa. Australia has the confidence and momentum going into this match, while South Africa may be under pressure to perform.

Australia has a great opportunity to win this match with their superior team balance, experience, form, bowling strength, and mental edge. They have shown that they are one of the favourites to lift the trophy this year. I hope to see them continue their winning streak against their arch-rivals.

Why I think South Africa will get up

South Africa may not be the favourites to win the upcoming World Cup Cricket game against Australia. But they have a few reasons to be optimistic. Let’s look at some of the factors that could tilt the balance in their favour:

  • South Africa have a balanced and experienced squad that includes players who have performed well in different conditions and formats. They have a strong batting line-up, led by captain Temba Bavuma. Their wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock, can score runs at a brisk pace under pressure. There’s a reliable middle-order, with Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen, who can hopefully them provide stability and firepower. Their bowling attack is versatile and varied.  They can choose from pace options from Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi. This pitch has been good to spinners so Tabraiz Shamsi, Keshav Maharaj and Aiden Markram should fare well.
  • South Africa has a good record against Australia in recent times, especially in one-day internationals. They have won six of their last eight ODIs against Australia, including a 3-0 whitewash in Australia in 2016 and a 2-1 series win in South Africa in 2020. They have also beaten Australia in two of their last three World Cup encounters, in 2007 and 2015. South Africa will be confident of repeating their success against their arch-rivals on the big stage.
  • South Africa has the edge over Australia if we look at the bookies’ odds. Oddschecker have South Africa priced at 6/5 to win the match, while Australia are at 8/11. South Africa has a higher implied probability of winning than Australia, based on the market’s assessment of their chances. If this motivates South Africa it could prove the bookies right and upset the odds.

South Africa are in with a real chance of beating Australia in the World Cup Cricket game. If we look at their squad strength, head-to-head record and betting odds. They’ll need to play with passion, discipline and skill to overcome the challenge posed by Australia, who are also a formidable team with world-class players.

What do the bookies say?

The bookies have a clear favourite for the upcoming World Cup: India. Yes, you read that right. India, who are not even playing in this match, are the odds-on favourites to win the whole tournament. At the time of writing they’re currently priced at $3.40 (bet365) , 15/8 (The Telegraph) and 13/8 (Oddschecker) to lift the trophy on their home soil.

But what about the actual teams that will face each other tomorrow night in Lucknow? Well, Australia are slightly ahead of South Africa in the betting markets, with odds of $4.50 (bet365) , 4/1 (The Telegraph) and 11/2 (Oddschecker) to win the World Cup. South Africa are a fair bit behind, with odds of $10.00 (bet365) , 11/2 (The Telegraph) and 11/2 (Oddschecker) to claim their first ever World Cup title.

However, the match odds are much closer, with Australia having a slight edge over South Africa. Australia are priced at 8/11 (Oddschecker) to win the match, while South Africa are at 6/5 (Oddschecker) . This suggests that the bookies expect a tight contest between the two teams, who have both won two and lost one of their three matches so far in the tournament.

What is the pitch telling us?

Australia is under immense pressure to bounce back from their opening loss to India. South Africa, on the other hand, are riding high on confidence after smashing Sri Lanka with three centuries from their top order. Let’s look at  the pitch conditions to see if it can predict a winner for this match:

– It’s being played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, which is a new venue for both teams and has not hosted any international cricket before.
– The pitch was re-laid earlier this year and has produced some high-scoring matches in the IPL. It’s also hadsome uneven bounce and turn for the bowlers.
– The weather forecast is sunny and dry, which could make the pitch more conducive for batting as the game progresses.
– Spinners could play a crucial role in this match, as India showed against Australia in Chennai with their three-pronged spin attack. South Africa have two quality spinners in Maharaj and Shamsi, while Australia rely on Zampa as their lone specialist spinner.
– The ground has dimensions that are favourable for the batsmen. There’s with short boundaries on all sides. This could favour the power hitters like de Kock, Markram, Warner and Maxwell.

Hopefully the pitch for this match will produce a high-scoring contest between two teams. The team that can exploit the variations in the pitch and use their spinners effectively will have an edge over their opponents. It shaping up to be a fascinating battle between two World Cup rivals who have given us some memorable moments in the past.

The bottom line

This game is expected to be a close and exciting contest, with both teams having strong players and records. Based on the current odds and statistics, Australia have the slight edge over South Africa, and are likely to win the match by a couple of overs. There’s factors that could change depending on various factors such as weather, pitch conditions and player form.

The Everest 2023 – Predictions and Odds

The Everest is the world’s richest race on turf. It has a staggering prize money of $20 million. It attracts the best sprinters from Australia and overseas, who compete over 1200 metres at the iconic Randwick Racecourse in Sydney.

The race is open to any horse three-years-old or upwards, but only 12 slots are available, each costing $700,000 each. The slot holders can choose their own runner or sell, trade, or lease their slot to other connections.

The Everest will be held this Saturday the 14th October 2023 and is the highlight of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival. The 2022 edition was won by the outsider Giga Kick, who upset the favourites Nature Strip and Espiona.

But who will win the 2023 Everest? Let’s take a look at some of the contenders and their odds according to the bookies.

Who do the major betting sites have as favourite?

We’re set for another thrilling spectacle of speed and skill, as twelve of the fastest horses in the world compete for a share of the $20 million prize money. But who are the favourites to win the world’s richest race on turf?

Here what some of the major betting sites have as their tips for the Everest 2023 at the time of writing:

  • TAB: TAB has Private Eye as the favourite at $4.50, closely followed by Mazu at $5.00 and Espiona at $6.00. Private Eye is a spritely four-year-old gelding who won the Golden Eagle in 2022. They have a record of seven wins from 11 starts. Mazu is a five-year-old gelding who finished second in the Everest 2022 and has won six of his 10 starts. Espiona is a seven-year-old gelding who won the Doomben 10,000 in 2022 and has 11 wins from 23 starts.
  • Sportsbet: Sportsbet also has Private Eye as the favourite at $4.50, followed by Mazu at $5.50 and Espiona at $7.00. Sportsbet also offers a market for the top international runner, with Alcohol Free leading the way at $8.00. Alcohol Free is a four-year-old mare who won the Sussex Stakes in England in 2022 and has six wins from 11 starts.
  • Ladbrokes: Surprisingly, Ladbrokes has Mazu as the favourite at $4.80, very closely followed by Private Eye at $5.00 and Espiona at $6.50. Ladbrokes also has a market for the top NSW country-trained runner, with Overpass leading the way at $11.00. Another contender, Overpass is a four-year-old gelding who won the Kosciuszko in 2022 and has seven wins from 12 starts.
  • Bet365: Bet365 has Private Eye as the favourite at $4.33, followed by Mazu at $5.00 and Espiona at $6.50. Bet365 also has a market for the top Victorian-trained runner, with Jacquinot leading the way at a long $15.00. Jacquinot is a four-year-old colt who finished third in the Manikato Stakes in 2022 and has four wins from nine starts.

Why Private Eye could win

Private Eye is a top pick for the upcoming Everest. He’s proven himself to be a versatile and adaptable sprinter, capable of winning over various distances and under different conditions. He’s shown a remarkable improvement in his form this season, culminating in his impressive victory in The Shorts at Randwick last Saturday.

Private Eye was runner-up under a half-length off the three-year-old winner Giga Kick in last year’s The Everest results. He returned to his best fresh first-up in the Group 2 $1 million The Shorts (1100m) on 7 Stakes Day with an arrogant win thanks to another 10/10 ride by Nash Rawiller. He did plenty of work after popping out to the half-mile three-deep and facing the breeze the whole way before picking them up and flying through the line.

His trainer Joe Pride said he expected Private Eye to improve significantly at his next couple of runs, and that he was an “unbelievable horse” who kept changing and he had to keep up with him. Pride also has another Everest contender in Think About It, who won the Kingsford Smith Cup – Stradbroke Handicap double in the winter.

Private Eye is likely to face a strong field of rivals in The Everest, including Alcohol Free, who completed the line-up after being booked by Yulong Investments. Nature Strip was the star of the race last year, and Giga Kick, who recorded a fairytale win in 2022. However, Private Eye has a one of the most favourable barrier draws with saddlecloth number 3. There’s also the advantage of having Rawiller on board, who is in red-hot form.

Private Eye is currently the second favourite in the betting markets, behind Nature Strip, but I think he has what it takes to upset the odds and claim the $20 million prize. He is a horse with a lot of heart and talent, and he will deliver a thrilling performance on October 14.

Why Mazu could win

Mazu is one of the four horses in The Everest 2023 that have syndicated owners, which means he has a lot of support and enthusiasm behind him. Mazu is trained by the father-son duo of Peter and Paul Snowden, who have a proven record of success in big races.

Mazu has shown impressive form this season, winning three of his four starts, including the Group 2 The Shorts at Randwick. He also finished second in a barrier trial at Rosehill on Tuesday, behind Overpass, who is another contender for The Everest. Mazu has a good barrier draw of six, which gives him a chance to settle in a handy position and unleash his powerful finish.

Mazu has also attracted some favourable bets from major betting sites in Australia, such as Sportsbet, TAB and Ladbrokes, who have him at odds of around $8.50. I think Mazu might have all the attributes to win The Everest 2023 and make history for his syndicate owners.

Why Espiona could win

Espiona is one of the fastest horses in Australia and he has proven himself in many big races. He was the runner-up in the 2022 edition of The Everest, only beaten by a narrow margin by the champion sprinter Giga Kick. He also won the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 and the Group 2 Missile Stakes earlier this year, showing his versatility and consistency.

Espiona has a great record at Randwick, where he has won three times from five starts. He loves the 1200m distance, where he has won six times from nine starts. He also handles all track conditions, having won on good, soft and heavy surfaces.

Espiona is trained by Joseph Pride, who is one of the best trainers of sprinters in the country. He knows how to prepare his horses for The Everest, having finished second twice with Espiona and third once with Ball Of Muscle. He also has a great partnership with jockey Nash Rawiller, who has ridden Espiona in all his wins this year.

Espiona is one of the favourites for The Everest 2023. He is currently paying $5.00 at swiftbet, $4.80 at Betr and $5.50 at Sportsbet. These odds reflect his strong form and his suitability for the race.

Espiona is a horse that always gives his best and he has the speed, stamina and courage to win The Everest 2023. He has been unlucky to miss out on the glory in the past, but I think this year will be his year. He is one of my top picks for the race and I will be backing him with confidence.

The Bottom Line

The Everest 2023 is shaping up to be a thrilling contest between some of the best sprinters in the country.

The favourite, Mazu, has drawn a favourable barrier and has shown impressive form in his recent wins. However, he will face a strong challenge from Private Eye, who has also been in sensational form and has a proven record over 1200m.

Both horses are owned by syndicates of owners who have invested in the $20 million race .

If we look at the current odds and form, I would be putting money on Private Eye to win or place, as he offers better value than Mazu and has the ability to finish strongly.

Mazu is a worthy second pick, but may find it hard to hold off Private Eye in the final stages. Think About It and I Wish I Win are two other horses that could surprise with a good run.
