BetEasy Review

If you hadn’t guessed from my site, I’m a bit of a sports betting tragic. Over the years, I’ve tried many different platforms to place my bets over the years. However, few have come close to impressing me as much as BetEasy. I’ll try share with you my personal experience with BetEasy, and why I think it was one of the better options for anyone who loves sports and wants to make some money from it.

This review is of my experience before they were bought by SportsBet.  I’m writing this review for transparency as I used to use it a lot!

What I liked about BetEasy

BetEasy was one of the most popular and trusted online sports betting sites in Australia. I had been using it for over a year and I was very satisfied with their service. Here are some of the things I liked about BetEasy:

  • They offered a wide range of sports and markets to bet on, from AFL and NRL to cricket and soccer.
  • They had competitive odds and promotions that give you more value for your money.
  • They had a user-friendly website and app that made it easy to place bets and track your results.
  • They had a responsive and helpful customer support team that is available 24/7 via phone, email or live chat.
  • They had a secure and fast payment system that allows you to deposit and withdraw money with ease.

BetEasy was a reliable and enjoyable online sports betting site that I would have recommended to anyone who loves sports and gambling. It was definitely worth checking out.

What I didn’t like about BetEasy

While BetEasy had many features that made it a popular choice for Australian sports bettors, there were also some aspects that I didn’t like about the site. Here are some of the drawbacks that I encountered during my experience:

  • The site was slow and laggy at times, especially during peak hours or when there are major events happening.
  • The customer service wasn’t very responsive or helpful. I had to wait for a long time to get a reply from the live chat, and the email support was not much better.

The promotions and bonuses weren’t very generous or frequent. The welcome offer was only a 100% match up to $50, which is lower than many other sites. The other offers are mostly related to specific sports or events, and are not very appealing or rewarding. This feature across the board has been shut down by the government.

BetEasy definitely had some advantages as an Australian sports betting site, but it also had many flaws that made it less than ideal.

How did it compare?

Even though it’s now defunct, here’s how it stacked up.

Site Welcome Bonus Live Streaming Cash Out Rewards Program
BetEasy $50 Yes Yes Yes
Sportsbet $100 Yes Yes No
Neds $100 No Yes No
Ladbrokes $50 No Yes Yes
Bet365 $200 Yes No No

BetEasy offered a competitive welcome bonus, live streaming of various sports and racing events, cash out option and a rewards program that lets you earn points and redeem them for prizes. BetEasy could have been one of the best choices for Australian punters who want to enjoy a variety of betting options and features. Instead, SportBet bought them out.

How I got started

A couple of mates and I had just finished an annoying 5 over par round at our local club and we’d retired to the 19th hole. The NRL was on the big screen and one of my mates pulled out his phone. He was on the BetEasy site and showed me his screen. It looked really user friendly and easy to get started with.

What happened to BetEasy

BetEasy was one of the most popular online sports betting platforms in Australia, offering a wide range of markets, promotions and features for its customers. However, in December 2020, BetEasy merged with Sportsbet and ceased to operate as a separate brand. This means that all BetEasy accounts, balances and bets were transferred to Sportsbet, and BetEasy customers can now access the same services and products through the Sportsbet website or app. The merger was part of a global deal between Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of Sportsbet, and The Stars Group, the owner of BetEasy. The aim was to create a stronger and more competitive online gambling company that could offer better value and innovation to its customers.
